Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
With great sadness we have witnessed the escalation of conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Our hearts go out to everyone, in this difficult time. Please remember that as a church family, although we share many different earthly linages, we are all joined into a single eternal and heavenly lineage of Jesus Christ of whom we are all His children. Be assured that regardless of nationality, we now all mourn and suffer together, we continue to love and support one another, and we pray for our families, friends and countrymen; many whom may be in harm’s way. We pray the merciful God will watch over and protect them and that the Holy Spirit will soften hearts so that peace may reign over the Ukraine.
Saint Paul urges the faithful into excellence of life with these simple phrases:
“Let all that you do be done with love.” “Love never fails.” I Cor. 16:14, 13:
Christ himself tells us:
“A new commandment I give unto you, That you love one another; as I have loved you.” John 13:34
My dearest brothers and sisters, in this trying time, it is precisely this unconditional love for one another that is the hallmark of our Church family. May the love of Christ our Lord help us all.
With love in Christ,
Very Rev. Andrew Fetchina
